Elephants are Taking Over the City!

A few months ago we went to the Zoo.  While we were there we saw a whole herd of cardboard wrapped Elephants. We thought perhaps they were sculptures to be used in the Zoo.
Well last week the mystery of the Elephant parcels was revealed.  It seems they were a herd of fifty Elephants to painted by Australian artists to celebrate 150 years of Melbourne Zoo. The colourful herd has now been placed in different locations around the city of Melbourne.  We went on a mini safari today and found a few of them.  They will be there for a few more weeks then will be auctioned to raise money for the Zoo.  Hopefully we will find a few more before the disappear.

There is even a knitted Elephant!

By the wonderful artist and author, Graham Base.

Well we just have to have the iconic W-class tram.

This one is my favorite, I want it for my garden.
Well eight down, 42 to go!  Keep an eye out for Elephants if you are in Melbourne.
