Well I had to break the dictionary out for this one and I have no idea if the picture is correct for the word but it's yellow so it will have to do.  So the science nuts can feel free to correct me.

Weather.

There is nothing better than watching the storm clouds roll in after a sweltering day.  Melbourne must have the craziest weather in the world.  40 degrees one day and 16 degrees the next.

V just has to be for......

Violin!

My daughter started playing last year in class 3 and was lucky enough this year to be part of the MSO Artplay Ensemble. The chance to participate in the Ensemble came at a time when she was feeling really bad about her playing. She thought she was terrible and would often end up in tears in her lessons.  Being asked to join the ensemble and changing to a more suitable teacher restored her love of music and her confidence in her playing. This has been such an amazing experience for her and I am so proud of what she has done.

Trees!

I just love trees, cant get enough of them.  The first shot is from the botanical gardens near my house and the second is at the Melbourne Zoo. Just wonderful.

S is for.....

Steiner Education.

I had to do this today after watching my daughters class do a lovely final day performance for the parents.  Many were in tears at the beauty and talent of the children.

They sang, played recorder and then performed in small string (violin and Cello) ensemble groups.  The teacher had made a bound book with a story and picture from each child.  They all get to share each others stories and the most wonderful thing was listening to my daughter and her friend reading each other the stories on the way home. 

It's not for everyone but I am so glad I decided on this form of education for her, she is thriving and we are part of a loving, strong community.

Quiet

It's always good to find a quiet moment to read a book.

On this very sad day it is hard to think of something for the letter P.

But I guess it has to be.....

P is for Peace

Peace for the parents who have lost their beloved children.  

Peace for the families of the brave and selfless teachers who died protecting those children.

Sadly I think that Peace will be a long time in coming. 

My thoughts are with you at this awful, awful time.

OK I know, I missed a day, so yes it is a two in one post again.

N is for.......

A brand New home.

I never thought we would get to move into a brand new house, a house where nobody else has lived.  Fresh and clean and everything works.  A clean slate with which to start the next part of our life.

O is for.......

Opportunity.  

My daughter was lucky enough to be given the opportunity this year to be part of the MSO Artplay Ensemble.  A wonderful experience for both of us as we both got the opportunity to go to many MSO performances. My daughter thrived on the creative work done at the various workshops during the year.

K is for, Kitchen Garden Programs.

All schools should have one.  Our school is lucky enough to run the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.  Such a wonderful program, the children love it.  I love it as a parent because I now have a child who loves to cook and asks if she can cook dinner!

I love Insects and I'm always amazed at the variety we find in our garden.

Well I've joined in with A Month of A to Z. It's a two for one deal again because I missed a day due to attending ballet concerts.

G is for Growing up!  My darling baby is growing up so fast and is now insisting on putting her own lipstick on for her ballet concerts. 

With my daughter H is always for Harry Potter. She is a complete Harry Potter nut and she's only read the first four books.
