Merry Christmas
It was with complete joy that I watched my daughter lovingly prepare a snack for Santa before going to bed full of anticipation of the coming morning. I love that at eight and a half she still holds the magic that is Christmas. One of her friends at Ballet class gleefully went and told the rest of the class that Santa wasn't real and that your parents got all the presents. My daughters response was 'He is so silly, how can he possibly believe that your parents do all that for you.' She is holding on to the magic no matter what anyone else says.
Some may say that we lie to our children by creating this belief in Santa. But can you remember how exciting it was when you went to bed holding the excitement that Santa was on the way. I think it would be unfair to keep that magical feeling from our children by insisting on complete truth. It is a story, a tale, just like fairies, elves and all the other magical creatures that we fill our children's imaginations with.
So long live Santa, Christmas and magic.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
P.S. If Christmas isn't something you celebrate then I wish you Love, Light and Peace for your festive season.
