OK I know, I missed a day, so yes it is a two in one post again.

N is for.......

A brand New home.

I never thought we would get to move into a brand new house, a house where nobody else has lived.  Fresh and clean and everything works.  A clean slate with which to start the next part of our life.

O is for.......

Opportunity.  

My daughter was lucky enough to be given the opportunity this year to be part of the MSO Artplay Ensemble.  A wonderful experience for both of us as we both got the opportunity to go to many MSO performances. My daughter thrived on the creative work done at the various workshops during the year.

All schools should have one.  Our school is lucky enough to run the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program.  Such a wonderful program, the children love it.  I love it as a parent because I now have a child who loves to cook and asks if she can cook dinner!

With my daughter H is always for Harry Potter. She is a complete Harry Potter nut and she's only read the first four books.

A is for Amazing music workshops with Gillian Howell. 

B is for Ballet and Ballet rehearsals and Ballet concerts which are all happening this December.

Sewing Sunday

I just love this simple little A-line dress pattern. Minimal work for maxim effect.

The fabric is a stretch cotton from 'The Fabric Store' in Fitzroy and the pattern is a vintage one I have in my collection.
The only adjustment I made was to lower the neckline. I put patch pockets on the front because a girls got to have pockets. 
She loves it and wears it with long sleeved tops underneath when it's cooler. A dress that's not too girly, perfect.

Elephants are Taking Over the City!

A few months ago we went to the Zoo.  While we were there we saw a whole herd of cardboard wrapped Elephants. We thought perhaps they were sculptures to be used in the Zoo.

  Well last week the mystery of the Elephant parcels was revealed.  It seems they were a herd of fifty Elephants to painted by Australian artists to celebrate 150 years of Melbourne Zoo. The colourful herd has now been placed in different locations around the city of Melbourne.  We went on a mini safari today and found a few of them.  They will be there for a few more weeks then will be auctioned to raise money for the Zoo.  Hopefully we will find a few more before the disappear.

This one is my favorite, I want it for my garden.
