Well last night we had our winter solstice celebration at school. It was just lovely. We started with sharing soup as a community in the class room whilst our lovely teacher told a delightful winter story. Next it was time to light the lanterns and go out into the cold wet night for our lantern and spiral walk. It had been raining all night and day and the ground was very muddy. I was so glad I decided to take our gumboots to school for the walk. The children of course loved the mud and delighted in the slipping and sliding during the walk.
